Welcome to Lake View Rest Homes

Welcome to Lake View Rest Homes Ltd, Lytham, Lancashire

Just over 22 years ago Mrs Rose Marie Wood was looking to get into the Care Industry. Her hope was to open her own Care Home; somewhere that would provide a haven for the elderly which had all the comforts of home coupled with caring, attentive staff and crucially a bit of TLC.Elderly couple sitting on a bench After looking around many other homes in the area, it soon became clear that whilst the homes on offer provided reasonable care, none really offered the kind of facilities she would look for herself. Mrs Wood soon had a very clear idea of what it would take to make a successful home that was far ahead of anything else on offer. A simple yet effective part of this idea was to provide each resident with more private living space and private bathroom facilities.

That idea yielded Rosewood Lodge Retirement Home, which opened just over 21 years ago. Over the years we have constantly fulfilled our aims and yet strived to be even better; and the result has been a well deserved reputation for uncompromising comfort and excellence in care.

In 1998, we re-affirmed our commitment to excellence and further enhanced our reputation by opening Lakeview Retirement Home, built on the success of Rosewood Lodge. Lakeview quickly became very popular, and the feedback was so positive on both homes that we felt we could offer the elderly even more choice and better standards of care in the area by further expanding.

In 2001, we purchased and completely re-modelled Newfield Lodge Care Home. Based upon the solid foundations provided by Rosewood Lodge and Lakeview Retirement Homes, Newfield Lodge had a huge reputation to live up to; one which I am pleased to say we emulated.

In 2008, the opportunity came up to purchase The Moorings Care Home. We had always viewed The Moorings as our main competition in the St. Annes area, and it was apparent that its position overlooking the Irish Sea and its luxurious setting would compliment our already outstanding care facilities.

Today, all 4 homes are still thriving; these family run homes being products of hard work and constant re-investment.

It is fair to say we've had some of life's real characters come to stay with us in those 21 years. The sort of people whom you will always remember, the kind of people you talk about when remembering the good times. Residents like this have helped to make our homes what they were, are and will be in the future - great homes.

Of course times change, and indeed over that 21 year period, so has Rosewood Lodge. Whilst the home has increased in size and the facilities were further improved, the team changed too. In 1992, Agnes Woods joined our company. It was soon clear to Mrs Wood that Agnes had great potential with regard to the looming changes in the industry, and sure enough, Agnes worked her way up through the company to the position of Manager. Today the home continues to go from strength to strength.

As for our care teams, we have always tried to employ people like ourselves: hard working and above all caring. We expect our teams to provide the same care they would wish their parents to receive. Our care team is on call 24 hours per day to give assistance and help where required; or reassuringly, a cup of tea and a chat in the lonely hours of the night.

Our homes are subtly furnished to the highest standards. The lounge areas are light and airy with comfy sofas - as opposed to a room filled with high back chairs. The bedrooms are spacious and superbly appointed - although those who wish to bring their own furniture or items of sentimental value are welcome to do so. Food is prepared by our highly trained chefs and all diets are catered for. Our menus are inspected regularly by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and involve both choice and quality.
