Aims of Our Care Team:

To look after the residents needs and welfare to such a standard that you, yourselves would be satisfied with the service. The mandatory training that we provide and the NVQ's you are encouraged to undertake will provide you with the knowledge and opportunity to do this.

To strive to improve the quality of your own performance, regardless of the level you are at now. This means that in addition to improving your work based performance, you must try to improve your knowledge based performance. The training will supply you with the ammunition to do this e.g. the mandatory training will provide you with an excellent basic knowledge, and the NVQ some of you will earn will supplement this, providing you with the chance to improve your own performance.

Enhance the reputation of the home through your own good practice. This stems from improving your own performance. We encourage care team members to undertake an NVQ, so that our standards are such that we can offer the best care possible.

To put the welfare and well-being of fellow care team members before your own. All of the training provided will show you the potential and allow you to appreciate the benefits of teamwork. Thus providing a productive and harmonic working environment.

Treat each visitor to the home with respect and kindness e.g. delivery men, postmen etc...

Philosophy:

"Each person living at Lakeview Rest Homes shall be afforded the space and respect which is their right. The opportunity to make choices in their every day life and to maintain their independence and self respect, as a valued member of society."

Privacy:

Privacy is a fundamental right of each individual. We believe that every resident has a right to personal privacy, privacy of space and personal affairs. Confidentiality is encouraged and ensured at all times, both inside and outside of the home.

Dignity:

Preservation of residents self-respect and self-worth - particularly in relation to aspects of personal care - is fundamental to the care we provide.

Empowerment:

By communicating, giving time, offering choice and freedom, we believe residents become more truly themselves, retain their individuality and lead more meaningful lives.

We hold regular residents meetings, where you are encouraged to come along and have a big say in how the home is run and how you live your life.

Each month, your plan of care will be reviewed with you and you will be enabled to have a major role in planning the care you receive and how that care will be delivered.

If something is not right or you are not completely satisfied with the service, we encourage you to come forward so that things can be improved.
