The needs of the residents living at Lakeview Rest Homes will be continually assessed and every encouragement will be given to ensure skills are maintained i.e. if it is appropriate for a resident to make his/ her own bed, assist with the washing up, laying the tables etc... if it is felt to be of therapeutic benefit.
The assessment will be done by way of an initial care plan completed in conjunction with the family and resident, followed by monthly updates.
Is Said To Include:
When a person falls sick, they are looked after with care and understanding, under the guidance of the General Practitioner, District Nurses, relatives and friends.
Lakeview Rest Homes are not considered to be a Nursing Home, therefore persons with serious mental conditions or physical disabilities, who require constant, specialised nursing care can not be asked to consider the facilities available at our homes.
Residents will be assisted by our care team to follow their own spiritual beliefs/religion. Ministers of all denominations will be welcome to visit at any time, and facilities will be made available i.e. for communion etc.
Every effort will be made to care for residents until death within the Home. This is with the daily guidance and Primary Support Team of the Nursing Staff/Healthcare. Only when the resident needs a more specialised care should it be necessary for the resident to leave one of our homes.

Resident's relatives will be encouraged to stay at this time and comforts will be provided.
If no relative is present at the time of death, then the next of kin will be notified immediately. The Dr will visit and issue a death certificate, which will be given to the accepted next of kin, so that the death can be registered. Cultural and traditional wishes will be complied with wherever it is possible.
It is requested that Lakeview Rest Homes be notified upon admission, and during completion of the care plan of any special requests.
Property will be retained and will only be given to the named next of kin and a receipt/signature will be obtained.
Arrangements will be made with the deceased persons family, for the undertakers to visit and ensuing funeral arrangements.
