Lakeview Care Home

In 1997 we had found that Rosewood Lodge was so successful and our waiting list so long that we needed to expand in order to satisfy demand. We looked around for some time, trying to find a facility that was on a par with Rosewood Lodge and better than our competition. We purchased a home which had closed down due to being unable to adapt to the new pending Care Standards Act 2000. It's true benefit being its position - 50 metres from Fairhaven Lake. We completely re-built the home, ensuring all bedrooms were of a good size, benefited from en-suite facilities and that the home enjoyed a luxurious feel throughout. The result was an outstanding home which was the envy of all others. This 29 bedroom (all en-suite) home opened in 1998.

Lakeview is an exceptionally well run home and enjoys the benefits of a care team that is truly caring, trained to the highest standards, loyal and stable. Whilst the majority of the team here have worked with us for several years, there is a core to the team that have been in our employment for 9 years now. Staff stability is one of the most important aspects in ensuring our residents well-being. It helps residents form trusting relationships with their carers, which is essential in achieving the best possible outcomes. This team knows how we operate and the standards we expect them to keep in providing our residents the best care.

At Lakeview, 91% of the care team have NVQ Level 2 in care or above, whilst the remaining team members are working towards their NVQ Level 2 in care. Of these many are holders of NVQ Level 3, one holder of an NVQ Level 4 and one RMA. There is even a B.A in Business Management.

There are many strengths in the Lakeview team, but they particularly excel at finding meaningful activities to occupy the residents, organising social events and working with residents friends/families to build lasting relationships.
