Rosewood Lodge Care Home

As pleased as we are about all four homes, Rosewood Lodge will always provide special memories, being the first step on the way to our current position.

Back in 1987 when it first opened, it was unique in the FYLDE area because it was the only home in which all bedrooms had private en-suite facilities - a testament to the owner's vision. Indeed Mrs Wood and her family used to live at Rosewood Lodge during its early years. They fondly remember mornings spent playing cards, dominoes or listening to music with the residents. Whilst afternoons were spent going on trips to the shops, enjoying outings, playing bingo, watching videos, taking part in quizzes or dancing. For quieter residents there was always a quiet corner where you could lose yourself in a good book, or be content in your own thought and company. Pleasingly, some things never change.

Of course some change is not always a bad thing, and indeed over that 21 year period, Rosewood Lodge has made significant improvements. Whilst the home has increased in size and the facilities were further improved, the team changed too. In 1992, Agnes Woods joined our company. It was soon clear to Mrs Wood that Agnes had great potential with regard to the looming changes in the industry, and sure enough, Agnes worked her way up through the company to the position of Manager. Today the home continues to go from strength to strength. Currently, there are 24 bedrooms at Rosewood Lodge, all with private en-suite facilities.

Being our first home, and the fact that we try our best to maintain a stable work team, it is no surprise that some of the team at Rosewood Lodge have been with us for over 15 years! Again, the majority of the staff have served several years in our employment as part of a successful team.

Here, over 80% of the team are holders of NVQ Level 2 in care or above, whilst a further 8% of the team are working towards their NVQ. Several of these are holders of NVQ Level 3, some are holders of NVQ Level 4 (or working towards it), one is a holder of the RMA and one is a holder of the Business Diploma.

The strength of this team is its dedication to its residents through clear direction. They work hard to ensure they pay attention to detail when caring for their residents and ensure a personal experience.
